Just curious where everyone sits when racing especially forward crew. We have a total of 5 and if the wind is blowing where do you have everyone placed for balance and on light days where is the best place for the foredeck to be? Thanks, :)bill

Upwind in heavy air: Skipper straddles traveler, jib trim sits just behind the first stantion from the stern, spin trim sits just in front of the same stantion, and everybody else stacks up from there forward. If I’m sailing with 5 (not fast in a breeze) then everybody but the skipper sits on place forward of that. If i have 8 on board (fast in a breeze) then this means the bowman is sitting in front of the shrouds.
In light air, the same fore and aft except some portion of the crew is either on the leeward side. |
