Yesterday I winterized the Laser, in the process I went to
drain the gear oil from the Saildrive and had mistakenly pulled the Shaft Screw
and now I cant get it to go back in. I read the manual on how to remove the
screw, but it list no tricks to re installing the screw. Any suggestions? |

Get an awl and a flashlight... look into the hole and you'll see a hole in a fork. Push the awl into place and move it so that the hole in the fork lines up with the hole where the screw goes in and your ready to install the screw. Remember there is a paper gasket behind the head of that screw. Be sure it looks in good shape and use a bit of automotive sealant behind the head of the screw for safety sake.
