Hello Bill,

How you finish the inside will depend on the level of damage. If the laminate is fractured, meaning it is cracked, in which case fibers may be damaged inside the surface of the laminate, I would recommend an FRP repair with cloth and resin. If not, paint will work just fine. Remember resin just bonds load carrying fibers together and has very little strength by itself. Just applying resin to the top surface of the laminate will not add strength and under load it will almost certainly crack in the exact same place it cracked previously.   If you are in doubt of what you are looking at, e-mail me some pictures.

Bill

Greetings all. Finally getting last summers hit repaired and the in/outside are glassed and sanded and my question is how to finish the interior - paint or simply resin?

New toe rails are soon to installed and I will post pictures and steps I use (and will soon have 4 originals to sell if anyone is interested!) Thanks all, :)bill ryan
